MAINTENANCE & REPAIR TIPS

COMPANY INFORMATION

SERVICE DEPARTMENT - AIR CONDITIONING

A properly maintain air conditioner will use less energy, provide greater cooling and provide 20+ years or service with little or no break downs. This equipment uses compressed refrigerants under high pressure, line voltage and low voltage control systems and mechanical system. Only personnel familiar with this type of equipment should perform repairs. General maintenance can be performed by anyone with basic mechanical skills. Before starting any compressor, the controls must be power for 24 hours. This is to allow the compressor heaters to boil off any refrigerant in the oil. Failure to follow this can result in permanent damage or failure of the compressor. In case you did startup the compressor right away, that loud clanging noise was the compressor piston trying to blow a hold in the top of the compressor. Do not attempt to work on any piece of equipment, or remove any panel when the unit is powered. There maybe be exposed electrical connections or moving parts the can cause serious injury or death. Spilt systems using an indoor and outdoor condensing unit have separate power supply. Make sure each is shut off before servicing.
